According To christ | Fall 2022

The tension of Christianity is so often the tension between orthodoxy (right belief) and orthopraxy (right practice). This is a tension followers of Jesus feel in their own hearts and a tension the church has navigated throughout the centuries--at times, successfully, and at times, unsuccessfully and in ways that have caused great heresy or harm. Paul, in his letter to the Colossians, embraces this tension between orthodoxy and orthopraxy. He argues that the more deeply you look at Christ--who He is, what He declared, and what He did--the more it changes everything. Our relationships and our work, our faith and our failures, our sins and our suffering, our joys and our gifts, our culture and our world, our church and our community, our self-image and our sense of calling, our hopes and our fears, all of it comes into focus when viewed according to Christ.
